Movie: Twilight

At last….I got the DVD!!! Finally I get the see the characters in real form from the book that I have suddenly become obsessed about. I know, I am a little out of touch since the movie had been released almost a year now, but, it’s better late than never (LOL). Well, the first impression of Peng You when I told her I bought the DVD was ‘OH NO!!! DON”T WATCH IT”!!! (ok, I may be a bit exaggerate here, but her actual words was nothing far from that expression). She watched with her brother (no wonder, Peng You, this kinda movie you shouldn’t watch with your big bro…you should watch with your best buddy – AHEM…I am not hinting anything, hehehe). Although our movie preferences differ greatly, (Peng You enjoys comedies while I prefer sad, romance or action-pack) I was still a bit worried after I saw her expression. I have also read comments from Twilight readers who watched the movie and they still preferred the book to the movie. So, with that in mind, I have no expectation when I watched the movie. I guessed it work coz, I kinda enjoyed the movie though I do agree with most of the readers that the book is still the best.
The cinemography is nice and the movie is sweet. I found that I am too old for this kind of teenage romance but that doesn’t stop me from enjoying the movie. Kristen Stewart (Bella Swan) and Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen) made a good couple and they were exactly how I perceived them while I was reading the book. Thus I guessed that what makes the movie such a success and those casts a huge hit among teenagers.
Well, the reason the book is so much more interesting is because, the writer has so much time to explain more about Edward and Bella’s friendship and relationship whereas, in the movie (I guessed it was due to time constraint), many details were left out.
Anyway, my curiosity has been met and I no longer have to imagine how certain things will turn out in the movie since now that I have watched it.
